PADI PRO Divemaster
MAKE YOUR PASSION YOUR CAREER
You love scuba diving and want to share it with others on a whole new level? Become a PADI Divemaster and do what you love. As a PADI Divemaster, you not only get to dive a lot, but you also become a role model, a mentor, and a motivation to other divers. There is no better feeling than passing your passion to others.
WHY BECOME A PADI DIVEMASTER WITH SCUBANANA?
The PADI Divemaster course is your first level of professional training – but not only that!
In the Scubanana family, we go beyond the standard Divemaster Training to make you the best divemaster possible. You’ll work closely with a PADI Master Instructor, who will train you to fine-tune your dive skills, perfect the effortless hover, refine your rescue skills, teach you to use a lifting device, demonstrate real-life navigation, and more. Additionally, you’ll gain dive knowledge, management, and supervision abilities by working with real customers, making you a role model for divers everywhere.
To sum it up: you will learn to anticipate and easily solve common problems that can occur in diving, and become a ‘good’ divemaster.
WHAT AWAITS YOU AFTER THE PADI DIVEMASTER COURSE?
As a PADI Divemaster, you’ll lead and supervise scuba diving activities and assist in diver training. Also, you have the opportunity to advance further and become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Whether your preference is to work at a remote dive destination or within a local dive shop close to home, an adventure of your lifetime awaits you. PADI Divemasters are esteemed dive professionals aligned with PADI, the world’s largest and most respected dive organization.

Frequently asked questions about Divemaster
What is the difference between a Divemaster and a PADI Instructor?
A Divemaster can guide and supervise certified divers and assist in training, but they cannot independently conduct certification courses. A PADI Instructor, on the other hand, is authorised to teach and certify new divers autonomously.
Do I need special insurance to work as a Divemaster?
Yes, it is advisable to have professional liability insurance that covers diving activities. Some countries or employers may require it as a condition of employment.
Can I teach speciality courses as a Divemaster?
As a Divemaster, you can conduct certain experience programs under the supervision of an instructor, but to teach speciality courses and certify divers in them, you must be a PADI Instructor and obtain the relevant speciality certification.
What is the maximum depth allowed for a PADI Divemaster?
Divemasters are certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 metres. To dive to 40 metres, you can take the Deep Diver speciality course.
Can I take the Divemaster course even if I don’t want to work in diving?
Absolutely! Many divers take the course to improve their skills and knowledge without intending to work in the industry. It is a great way to become a more confident and experienced diver.
Do I need my own diving equipment to take the Divemaster course?
Yes, it is recommended to have at least your own regulator, BCD, mask, fins, and wetsuit. As a future professional, it is best to familiarise yourself with your own gear. If you’re missing some equipment, that’s not a problem. Just let us know what you need – you can either purchase or rent the missing gear.
What is a typical day like for a Divemaster at a dive centre?
It varies depending on the location, but usually includes preparing equipment, assisting in diver training, leading dives, managing boat logistics, and, in some cases, even helping with social media and customer service.
